On 17 October 2019, the Flemish and Walloon Construction Confederations, VCB and CCW, gave a joint presentation in Luxembourg on Belgian activities and projects promoting circular construction. Addressing an audience of over 140 stakeholders, Marc Dillen and Francis Carnoy discussed initiatives including Tracimat and Grondbank in Flanders and Walterre and Tradecowall in Wallonia. The seminar was part of the state visit to Luxembourg by the Belgian king and queen.

The two directors-general also highlighted the importance of cross-border cooperation programmes such as the various European Interreg projects, in which both VCB and CCW are actively involved. In these projects, we are working alongside Belgium's neighbours to find practical solutions for the further implementation of circular applications and methods in the construction sector. There was also time to present the initiatives forming part of the Green Deal Circular Construction and the Werflink sharing platform.

Organised as part of the state visit to Luxembourg, the seminar "From linear to circular: the future of construction" focused on networking, new opportunities and knowledge transfers between Luxembourg and Belgian companies. The Belgian royals and the Grand Ducal family of Luxembourg, flanked by politicians and representatives of the construction sector, showed a keen interest in the various initiatives and companies involved.
